We are on the home run into Ban Krut. Maybe 10-15 KLM out. Along this coast road there are maybe 4 or 5 high end resorts that cater to high end Thais who are bused in on the weekend. There is fuk all around them, all self contained catering to mass groups. Looks boring as fook to me but Thais like the Group thing huh. All good innit. This is a private beach with the road running between the resort and the road, bloody outstanding it is.

This area seems to be in a time warp as well, things remain as they were many many years ago except the road is bitumen and not sea shells. I love this stuff.

If one is in the know there is no reason whatso ever to go to an Island. The beaches and coast land in Southern Thailand excel and are mostly tourist free if ya go off peak. Ban Krut is very nice indeed.

Looks like a great trip, thanks for all the pictures. It's amazing how many quiet and out of the way places there are. How long did your drive back take?

The drive back To BKK took us 4 days. It's a 750 KLM odd run, we just cruised along on all the back roads staying in places we like. I recon that's why in all my Road trips I've never witnessed a road accident. I spent the minimum amount of time on the main arterial roads. My aim when touring is to see the good stuff, on the main roads one don't see shit. This is the Main road in Ban Krut. Very laid back.

The next morning it was an easy 60 KLM run up to Pratchup Khiri Kan, one of my favorite towns in all of Thailand. Took us all day though by the time we stopped off along the way. First was a trip up the mountain to see the local big Buddha.

I enjoy viewing these old style original Thai Houses, there are some classics down this way scattered around the place in the back blocks.

We were miles from no where when i spotted these 3 young kids playing on the Beach. I stopped to shoot a shot off, to bad the sun was behind them, could of been a real nice one. They seemed fascinated by the big nosed farang. Not many out this way.

Around 2 PM we entered Pratchup Khiri Kan at Ao Mano bay. This bay is managed by the Air force and remains spotless. One end is reserved for vendors and such and the other end remains untouched. They used to closed it down at night and everybody had to leave, dunno whether that's the case now. Bloody beautiful part of Thailand right here. This is the road in.
