A Birthday Party for Nong Ben

Today is Nong Ben's Birthday but she can't join a party then we just drink and eat by our own.

We are preparing food for other friends who are coming.

Jem and his gf just got in.

Then Kai comes in.

Our food, yeah.. look shite for you guys, I guess..

These boys are junior from the University which I and Jeng studied.

Another guess, Pah-Lak.. hehehe.. he's a playboy in the factory.

They are still drinking and eating, I'm here to take a rest for awhile before go to drink and eat again.

My apologies in advance for sounding a bit pithy but why do you GoW, think its "your" food and that it "look shite"?

I am a gourmand, a gourmet and a pretty moderately good cook myself (Italian food mostly - I make my own homemade pastas like spaghetti, tagliatelle, lasagne, pizza, sauces etc. if that can be an index of how seriously I take food).

I eat Thai at least once a day (my consort is a very good cook - has a Granny that was one of the cooks for one of your Ramas (the no. now escapes me) kings.

She taps her Yai regularly for recipes and I find most of her preparations excellent, both in taste and in the way they are presented. Furthermore, I greatly appreciate how much effort goes into cooking Thai foods. Cooking Italian is mere child play in comparison!

Taking the matter up a stitch, historically most great cultures also had/have a great cuisine and I find Thai second to none.

hence my Goddess, don't knock the local grub baby, your food is good shite indeed

My food is yummy but I just think it might be shite for y'all.

I love my (Thai) food! I enjoy it a lot. I go to Farang restaurant sometimes, I can eat Farang food but it's like my "snack", it's not like "food" to make me feel full at all but it's nice to change sometimes.

though some farang food is quite "heavy" for this climate, maybe not right now since these past few days I've been freezing me knuts off at night here in the Big Mango
but come March-April...some of the western cuisine is absolutely "nak"...gimme
a mango and sticky rice any day when it feels as if the doors of Hell have been
left open to scortch the fair City of Angels!

For the last six months I've been living a bachelor existence in the UK and dinner each evening is rice, peas, sweetcorn, and tuna zapped in the microwave and eaten straight from the cooking bowl......the only embellisment being the tears of my lonliness which fall as I force myself to eat......Anyhow, since arriving I've gone bloody mad-crazy on Thai food - yesterday I had yum-blah-duk-foo twice......and last night produced more gas than a North Sea oil platform.....I'm eating Italian tonight.

I love those Japanese restaurants where the food comes round on a conveyor belt......It's great that you can try something and spit it back out onto the belt if you don't like it.
