Not to mention a lighthouse City fathers have agreed in principle to spend 4.3 million baht on the construction of a second pier in the Pattaya area.
It will be built of concrete and steel in central Naklua close to the area with the famous tree in the middle of the road. PTE Engineering Limited will carry out the work, subject to approval of the detail by the transport and environmental departments. The local authority is confident that the new facility, 4 metres wide and 500 metres long, will be able to accommodate up to 40 fishing vessels which currently have to use several shoddy landing areas down the coast. The pier will also have a lighthouse to illuminate the proceedings. The proposed facility will also be adjacent to the new market which is expected to become famous for cheap and fresh sea food. A public garden and an OTOP centre will be further attractions in the ever improving Naklua town centre.
