I stayed in Cha Am a few years ago now.About 300m up from the beach sthn end was a plaza with bars and a gogo bar called the Chicken Coop,a bit of fun.
Just arrived here at Nirandorn and just an update on the prices, the units are now 1000 baht sun to thursday,(friday and sat they increase,) the rooms behind are the winners at 700 baht now. recommended highly
I stayed at this place too - missus liked it (she preferred a chalet), easy to park the car in the private car park, and the beach is a few seconds walk away. Keep meaning to go back for a few days, not wonderful, but pleasant and cheap... Nice food along the beach. A nice night market for the Thai ladies...Originally Posted by benbaaa

Cheers.

Wednesdays, head for the train station, it's in front of it. Get there about 5.30pm and head about 100 metres down the left side of it, where the beers only 50 baht a bottle, be quick, those old Scanivanian piss heads take the seats sharpish. Then leave the Missus to the shopping

It's literally on the 1st road back, parallel to the beach, right in the centre of the beach road - opposite the promenade area.
I know which one you mean, there's normally a fair behind it ?
That only comes out for special occasions like Songkran, Loy Krathong or whatever, I believe
^ok, sorry. It was on when I was at Cha-am, but they did have an event going on for a few days on the beach, so you're probably right...
a week long festival just finished sunday night, it was very busy but got rained out, today Monday it is so quiet
Was also informed that my 700 baht a night room will cost 1200 on Saturday night
That gives you 4 days to find a cheaper place...
My missus found lots of places further up the beach road (away from Bkk) that were 400-500 baht.
Have you found Soi Bus station yet Robbo ?
The place to go, if you do nip out and get the paper
not as yet, but found a small group of bars turning right from here, very quiet here now but if you tell me where the bus station is i will do my best to sneak out, ha haOriginally Posted by Dillinger
Hey Bangyai or Bobcock. Where is Krua Medsai restaurant, I have heard it is at the north end of the beach. This looks to be just what we are after the first night down. We are using up free coupons the wife has. One night at the Regent in Cha am, then 2 nights at the Sheraton in Hua hin.

Its a pretty well know place so once you get to the north of the beach the first Thai you ask will know.
^ Sorry....not eaten there myself . Just got that from a google search......trying to be helpful like.
Maybe one of the other experts can help out.
you head North up that beach road until you run out of road and hit a dirt road then you will see it on your right. It is on the beach just before the fishing pier
robbo. This is the place that I advised to you, at the bus station.
There is also a map.
