    PRS Mansion,Pattaya

    Hi Everyone,
I need a bit of help again. We are still unsure of where to stay although we have made the choice to stay in Pattaya and not Jomtien.
I have seen a place called PRS Mansion,it`s on soi 17. The price is excellent and we can use the facilites of the nextdoor gym if we stay in the executice suites.
Just need to know if anyone has any experience of this place or photos of it,and how far up soi 17 it is.
All your help is greatly appreciated,
    SKINBAD

    Hi,
Yes, i`ve seen it, it`s all I could find on the web.
You know what it`s like with maps, sometimes the hotels are no-where near where they say! That`s why I wanted to know how far up the Soi it is ( or down it,which ever way you want to look at it).
    Thanks for the help anyway,

PRS Mansion is 100 meters from the traffic lights on Pattaya 3rd road, actually it doesn't look too bad, still not a great area but you can walk down to 3rd road to get a taxi to Jomtien, you may have to break the journey into 2 taxis though unless you charter one, or just cross the road to go into South Pattaya, the road goes behind the Day and Night hotel and all that so there's loads of restaurants round there, or you can walk on down to the areas down near walking street.

The sign says they have a swimming pool and gym, so that should by rights be free for all residents, but it is probably Thai owned

Hi, Skinbad, I know the place very well, on my way home every day when i am in P.. rooms are rather gloomy. Lately, it's been patronized by a lot of young french arabs, you might feel like a minority there (you know, with the french in group, they tend to "own" a place).

Walk a hundred yards up and stay in bell'marine for the same price or maybe 100 bahts more (500 last I ask), big, immaculate rooms, and maybe you can still use the gym and the pool at PRS. It's not like they look that exclusive frankly.

The neighborood is fine, there is a night market, plenty of shops, and 5 minuites walk from walking street, 15 on the way back, if you are mildly drunk.

I Have a card of that hotel i speak about, if I find i will post infos.

May not be your cup-of-tea but I used to stay at Sea Lodge, Nakhlua Road soi 18/1. It's a resort not a hotel. Rooms have been renovated. I like the peace and quite of the pool on the weekend. Breakfast is extra but not the usual expoded sausages. Anton's famous 200 Baht buffet is not far away, the beach is close. Baht buses go up and down the main street etc.

Drop in and talk to Appen.

    Hi to everyone,
We are a family of 4,2 adults and 2 kids 14 and 12,and when i contacted prs I asked for an executive suite for us and 2 standard rooms for the kids ,( that`s all they`d need ).When they got back to me I was told the 2 different kinds of rooms were in seperate blocks, which I didn`t really want,I wanted us all on the same floor,so this place is now no-go for us.
I don`t really want to stay north, much prefere to be quite cenral ( but not too close! )
It`s now a choice between somewhere up soi 17 or on Soi Baokhao. I was trying to find info on V & M terrace, north end of Soi Baokhao, but no-one seems to know what the rooms are like.I know they have a small pool and price is around 7,000 baht a month for a room(plus electric and water).Everyone has been so helpful on this board so could I ask if someone could take a look for me at all?
Do you think it will be better to get a room somewhere for the night and go and have a look at both sois when i get there. With taking the kids though i just wanted to get somewhere nice booked before-hand so there`s no messing about when we arrive. We have been here many times over the years but this is the 1st time the kids are comming with us,that`s why i`m a bit unsure of where to stay,we usually stay anywhere so long as it`s clean and comfortable.
All you guys know what your talking about and I trust your judgement.
    Thanks very much again,
    SKINBAD

All depends when you are going. If it's arounf Xmas, NYE, or after, it will be definitely harder to find a room in the best deals around town. Especially near the beach, basically forget it (to pick and choose) almost year round!

Sorry, I am not there at the moment, can't help labout room looks. With 2 teenagers, you probably need a pool on the grounds.

Have you thought of the Naklua rd area, near wong amat beach. Tons of resorts out there in the sois. Maybe secure a night for arrival and go shopping for a hotel that fits. But beware if after dec 15th.

    Hi,
We arn`t due to come till around june/july. When it`s just the 2 of us we usually come here around november/december.
( about my name,SKINBAD,it`s not coz i`ve got bad skin,it was a nickname in school because it rymed with my second name, that`s all.I`ve got great skin!!!!!!ha,ha)
Well ,I think the best thing is to do a bit of searching while i`m there, just get somewhere for the night.
Everytime we come here there are always new places that have gone up so hopefully i`ll come across something which suits us,
    Thanks for the help everyone,

I used to stay in the Sabai Inn/ Sabai Lodge on Beach Road Soi 2.

I think it would be good for the kids as the pool is quite nice.

    SkinBad,

I know you said you don't want to be north, however. I have recommended the Sea Lodge In Naklhua to a few people and no one has been dissapointed. The pool is reasonably large, the service is good, it is off the main road but only by about 400m, anywhere in Pattaya is only 40 baht away for 4 of you in a baht bus, the beach is near enough for the kids to walk to alone, if they want to. Nakhlua beach is commercial enough to have everything but not too commercial as to be annoying.
The rooms or bungalows are not fancy but are livable and arranged in two's so the kids could be next to each other and across the path for you. Also they can go late night swimming, be far enough away to be independent but not far enough away to be a worry.
If you children are TV addicts they may be disapointed as the rooms don't have cable.

Sea Lodge does'nt have email so you would need to fax or phone

    Hi Skinbad,

I have stayed in the Areca Lodge many times, in the middle of town yet quite with great pools for the kid and a gym. A little more expensive perhaps, for ajoining rooms, they have a web site Areca Lodge this is in soi dianna. Lots of night life close to the hotel for you and the wife in the evenings.
