The kid was effectively run over four times... the most callous part for me is the way the driver of each truck slowly hauls the back wheel over the child's body.

The most incomprehensible part is the bit where the mother and child walk by, barely flinching.

My experience of traffic in China is that their equivalent of the "white van man", unlike any other country I've been in, simply keep driving - even if you walk in front of them and they are going 5 or 10 mph in heavy congested traffic, they launch into a tirade and give you the wide eyes and flailing arms and try to physically shove you out of the way with the front of their van as though it would be completely unreasonable for them to touch the brakes for a couple of seconds even though the next car is only 2 foot in front of them. A major culture shock for British, who are, as far as many foreigners in the UK have told me, by far the most polite drivers in the world - and I suspect the same goes for passers by on the street in the UK... where this sort of event would be inconceivable with passers by probably competing to help.

It's a shock to us in the developed world, but life really is cheap in the developing world, and especially if you're a girl...

^^This is a very well documented human trait. if someone collapses in front on one person, almost always that person will help. if someone collapses in ground of a group of people, they all think someone else in the gouge will help so they don't need to and you end up with a delayed intervention.

one good thing about thjis type of case ,it shows us who the idiots are ,we have few here at TD ,and apologists in the media,
they cannot accept that a certain race may on the whole be a nasty bunch , because to them all people are equal and so there must be another explanation .

If you are a real human when you see an injured child you help, no way where those people that walked past thinking about compensation etc all in a micro second.

Yesterday before coming home to read this sad story
here in North England , i saw ,someone had left a young dog tied to a lamppost in the shopping centre ,it was shivering ,several people stopped and looked concerned ,an old woman tried to cheer the dog up .

we treat our animals ,this one just waiting for its owner , better than they treat little children .

The passersby might have chinese social conditioning as an excuse but the sick fuk that was driving the first van should be tortured and then have his legs crushed by a semi trailer and have the whole thing posted on youtube as an example and wake up call for chinese social responsibility.

He was driving slowly. The girl was wandering slowly up the middle of the narrow road. He must have seen her a mile off and in his impatience at her not getting out of the way decided to run her over out of sheer laziness and contempt. Having boiling oil poured down his throat would be too kind.

The second driver must have seen her also and thought since she was already so badly injured that he wasn't doing much harm in running over what was left of her legs.
