A soldier went berserk yesterday, killing a lieutenant and a man for his motorcycle.

Private Surasak Boonchoo, 22, shot dead his chief Lieutenant Suwan Mudee with an M16 before shooting dead Abdulkarim Mata who was riding past on a motorbike and witnessed the incident on the Hat Yai-Pattani road.

Surasak then stole his motorcycle. An unidentified person was also shot and injured and rushed to Thepha Hospital.

Suwan drove a pick up to take Surasak to a bus station in Hat Yai to take a bus home to visit his sick mother in Nakhon Si Thammarat because he was stressed about his mother being in a critical condition.

Suwan was believed to have said something that upset Surasak.

Police and soldiers were hunting the man amid fears the stressed assailant might attack others.

Soldiering tends to be a tad sociopathic anyway, yes?
