Pattaya - Brave Boyfriend Chases Down The Robber

Brave Boyfriend Chases Down The Robber

A courageous boyfriend risked his life to pursue and attack the robber, who snatched his girlfriend’s necklace, while riding on the motorbike.

Pattaya, March 8, 2011 [PDN]: At 19:30, Police Colonel Sommuk Jankhate from Banglamung Police Station, was informed that a necklace robbery has occurred. The police hurried to the scene at Chanpen Apartment, Soi Mapyailia 24.

The police discovered Mr. Methanee or Terk Fullsarikit, aged 17, who was seriously injured.

Paramedic officers of Sawangboriboon Foundation were there to perform first aid care on the suspect and then took him to the police station for investigation.

The 24 year-old victim, Miss Kannika Srikanya, reported that she was riding on the motorcycle with her 29 year-old boyfriend, Mr. Surachai Nantapradit.

They were on their way back to their apartment from the market.

The thief was also riding on his motorcycle (Wave 125 with registered number plate – งษล-421, Chonburi), when he suddenly snatched the 50-sattang necklace from the victim.

The thief then quickly rode away, trying to escape. However, the victim’s boyfriend decided to make the pursuit.

He tackled the robber and attacked him.

The people nearby who witnessed the crime rushed in to help catching the thief.

After receiving first aid care from Sawang Foundation paramedics, the police took him to Banglamung Police Station.

Police believed that the suspect’s motorbike is often used to cause similar incident in the area.

Police also checked the area for anybody who may be injured during the incident. Police advised people to report to the Banglamung Police Station if they are injured or affected by the incident in any ways.

I can understand coming to the aid of his girlfriend, but it amazes me when a 7-11 (or some similar business) is robbed and people here risk their lives playing policeman. Sometimes a little cynicism keeps people from doing stupid things, like for a corporation that does not care about them.
