UDD rallies set for Feb 13 and 19

United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship supporters will rally against "oppression without justice" on Feb 13 and Feb 19, UDD core member Jatuporn Prompan said on Wednesday.

He said on Feb 13, starting at 1pm, red shirts would gather in front of the Criminal Court to submit letters of support for UDD core members still detained in prison to judges, and to voice grievances over unfair judicial procedures and rejections of their bail requests.

On Feb 19, the red shirts would again gather in front of the Criminal Court from 1pm. After that they would move to Ratchaprasong intersection, where the protesters would be asked to pass a resolution on whether the rally should be protracted if no signs of justice were evident.

"We will decide on Feb 19 whether to prolong the rally. It is now time for us to review our stance, to decide whether we should continue to tolerate oppression without being given justice," Mr Jatuporn said.

In December last year, UDD core members declared they organise a rally on the 10th and 19th of every month at the Democracy Monument and Ratchaprasong intersection to pressure the government to release UDD leaders and supporters still in detention.

The rally plan was adjusted after business owners at Ratchaprasong demanded understanding and sympathy of the problems the protests were causing them.

At today's press conference, the UDD also distributed a statement outlining 10 points of advice for its members to follow in case of another coup.
"Slavery is the daughter of darkness; an ignorant people is the blind instrument of its own destruction; ambition and intrigue take advantage of the credulity and inexperience of men who have no political, economic or civil knowledge. They mistake pure illusion for reality, license for freedom, treason for patriotism, vengeance for justice."-Simón Bolívar

Fantastic to see the freedom fighters and thai true democracy supporters defying the illegal junta amart proxy government and demonstrating in pursuance of democracy.

Also good to see that other bastion of freedom and democracy, the internationally celebrated and respected esquire Robert Amsterdam , seeker of truth and justice, representing the murdered 91 of the said fredom fighting organisation.
