Thailand declares a state of high alert

KUALA LUMPUR, June 29 (KUNA) -- The Thai government announced on Tuesday a state of high alert, and deployed the security forces in the capital two days after two bombs exploded in a wharehouse of the Thai Royal Army.

Thai Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thueaksuban said in remarks to the media that the government would tighten its security measures and deploy forces in 40 posts around the country.

The measure is in precaution to avoid acts of violence and chaos, he added.

The govnernment would extend the state of emergency in the county, which ends on July 7, he noted
