Thailand : PM Test Drives Country's First Solar-powered Tuk Tuk

PM Test Drives Country's First Solar-powered Tuk Tuk
    22 June 2010

The prime minister has taken a test drive of an eco-friendly tuk tuk powered by solar energy and made by Thai mechanics.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, along with Information and Communication Technology Minister Juti Krairirksh, traveled from Thai Khu Fa building to the Secretariat of the Cabinet on foot to preside over the weekly Cabinet meeting.

Before attending the meeting, Abhisit and the ICT minister took a test drive of a tuk tuk powered by solar energy around the building with its inventor, Air Marshal Morakot Charnsamruaj, accompanying them.

This is the first successful solar-powered tuk tuk made in Thailand. The eco-friendly vehicle will be introduced to the public during the Manufacturing Expo 2010, to be held this Thursday through Sunday at BITEC in Bang Na area.

I'm with this one. I've seen the shitty tuk tuks and this has to be a good move.
Now they just need to get them to Jakarta to replace those bag of crap Bajai we have over here.
