Young Girl Raped By Drunken Factory Worker Near Pattaya
Police have successfully apprehended a factory worker who had viciously beaten and raped an 8 year old girl, on Monday. The attack occurred in an alley behind the “Je Joy” ice factory in Sattahip.
Sattahip, the 11th of January 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 1:30pm on Monday, police Lieutenant Colonel Attharot Krongrach (Sattahip Police Investigator) was notified that an assault and rape of a minor had occurred behind the “Je Joy” ice factory, Baan Tao Than, Sattahip. A police team, including Colonel Somchai Sunthawanic and Lieutenant Colonel Damrong Uansoongnern along with rescue officers from the Sawang Rodjanatham Foundation attended the scene.
Officers arrived at the scene – an area of bushland – behind the “Je Joy” ice factory to find a large crowd gathered around the area . Approaching the scene police discovered Mr. Or [35] and Mrs. Noi [31] both Burmese immigrants, holding the body of the victim Miss Norng B [8] who was in a critical condition. Miss Norng B was rushed to Sattahip Hospital by rescue officers whilst an investigation continued at the scene.

After interrogating several people at the scene it was discovered that the offender was Mr. Wasan Onparn [20] from Sukhothai. It is believed that Mr Onparn is a worker at the “Je Joy” factory and was staying nearby. Officers went round to his residence, where they were able to arrest him whilst he was in a severely intoxicated state. The restless crowd that had gathered around the scene began to overwhelm police who had to calm them down, setting up a perimeter so that the investigations could proceed.
Police officers interrogated Mr. Onparn who revealed that he had been drinking solidly all morning, becoming increasingly sexually frustrated. Due to his severely drunken state he explained to police that he approached Miss Norng B – who had been walking past the back of the factory – deceiving her to come into the bush with him. Mr. Onparn stated that once he had taken the victim to the bushland he repeatedly assaulted her, as she was trying to cry out for help. Miss Norng was eventually knocked unconscious at which point Mr. Onparn explained that he raped the child for a period of around two hours. Finally he left the scene and returned to his residence to carry on drinking. Shortly after local residents discovered the young girl crying for help in the bushland, proceeding to call police immediately.

Hospital reports have confirmed that a rape had occurred, and that the young Miss Norng B was in a severely weak but stable condition in the ICU of Sattahip Hospital. It was revealed to police by Mr. Onparn that he may have infected the young girl with HIV as his wife had recently died of the infectious disease. Reports have confirmed that Mr. Onparn had not been infected with the potentially deadly virus however the victim’s parents are still worried that their child may have been infected, regardless of the medical report. Mr. Onparn has been officially arrested and charged with the rape and assault of a minor under the age of 13, he will now be detained in police custody until judicial proceedings commence.
