Pattaya - Killer of lottery vendors arrested

Banglamung Police together with the Police Investigation Force Bangkok arrested a man suspected of violently attacking and stealing from lottery vendors in the Banglamung area, causing one victim to die from her injuries. Sombat Paowong aged 47 was apprehended at the Bus Terminal in Bangkok and brought back to Pattaya for further questioning. At his home in Nongprue police discovered stolen lottery boxes and a steel pipe used in the attacks since September to December 2009. The suspect confessed that he did the deeds in order to get money to pay off 90,000 baht of debt. He stated that did not intend to kill the first victim. He was later taken to the crime scenes to re-enact his criminal acts before being incarcerated to await charges of theft and murder in court.
