When I have meetings with Thai companies they are often late. If they are coming to my office I can virtually guarantee it. The excuse is always the traffic.

What an arrogant little prick with no social or political knowledge, ket alone basic manners . . . I do hope the Ambassador files a formal complaint and the little shithead governor gets his arse handed to him.

Don't you realize the Governor of Phuket is second only to "he that must be obeyed"? If you fluck with the Phuket Mafia your a dead man.. just covering his ass, when the BOSS calls you go running and not fulocking about with measly ambassadors.

Obviously you have never been to the center of the world (phuket for those uninitiated) and seen the little flucking tuk tuks with the red lights and blue lights racing around Phuket Town doing the BOSS' bidding.

gotta admit the lack of knowledge of diplomatic protocol on display is astounding .

the Ambassador in his official capacity is representing an entire nation , whom the Governor saw fit to snob ..................

    simply astounding .

So regardless of who was right or wrong, the business of the day went discussed?
I'll bet THAT suited the Thais right down to the ground.

Yes, but Phuket is a better place than Yeramany, that's why so many Yeramans go there. If the ambassador doesn't like Phuket he can always go home.

    German Ambassador visited Phuket

    German Ambassador visited Phuket

The German Ambassador to Thailand came to Phuket hoping to discuss cooperation on a few issues including Germans in trouble.

Dr. Hanns Heinrich Schumacher, the German Ambassador, based at his Embassy in Bangkok, came down to Phuket to meet local officials. He had hoped to meet the new Phuket Governor, Mr. Wichai Praisa-Ngob, on his first working day, but the Governor was unavailable, so the Ambassador gave a short interview to the local press at the Provincial Hall, in which he stated the 3 main reasons for his visit: to discuss matters with the German Honorary Consul Dirk Naumann especially about the large number of Germans in Phuket; the arrest of a German juvenile in Patong on sex abuse charges; and to investigate cases of other Germans arrested or dieing in Phuket apparently not reported promptly by the Thai police to the Embassy. k , I missed that

for the record let me reiterate ,

the Ambassador is NOT an individual as such rather the representative of a nation ,

as such it's a physical impossibility for him to go home .

Gott in Himmel! It was the poor governor's first day! Not off to a very good start, I'd say. I'd imagine this was a scheduled meeting, no? Ambassadors don't often just meander on down to the provinces and decide to drop in on the governor unannounced. Anyhow, I can't view the video. Says it's been removed.

Anchalee denies involvement in governor’s transfer

Mrs Anchalee, former president of the Phuket Provincial Administration Organization, now has a high-level post in the Prime Minister's Office.

PHUKET CITY: One of Phuket’s leading Democrat Party figures has denied any involvement in the transfer of former governor Preecha Ruangjan and revealed that Dr Preecha requested the transfer.

Anchalee Vanich Thepabutr, Deputy Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office in Bangkok and wife of Phuket MP Tossaporn Thepabutr, said media reports that she had something to do with the transfer of Dr Preecha were false.

Mrs Anchalee told the Gazette she had no influence over the decisions of coalition partners in the government led by Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva.
The decision to transfer Dr Preecha from Phuket to Phitsanuloke and replace him with former Sing Buri governor Wichai Phraisa-ngop was based on a cabinet resolution proposed by Interior Minister Chavarat Chanweerakul, leader of newly formed Bhumjaithai Party, she said.

The Bhumjaithai Party, made up of loyalists to banned Buriram-based politician Newin Chidchob, was handed the highly prized Interior and Transport Ministry portfolios as a way of luring them into the coalition, it has been widely reported.

Mrs Anchalee said that a reliable source in the Governor’s Office told her that Dr Preecha had submitted a formal request to the Interior Minister seeking a transfer to another province, specifying Nakhon Sawan as his preference.

“He gave as his reason the fact that he has more experience in agriculture than tourism,” she quoted the source as saying.

Contacted by phone today, new Phitsanuloke Governor Preecha Ruangjan did not deny he made the transfer request.

Commenting that the issues behind the transfer orders were complex, he said only that he was happy to now be serving as governor of Phitsanuloke, which borders on his native Phichit province.

For analysis on this topic, read the editorial in the upcoming hardcopy version of the Phuket Gazette.

Maybe the dumb fok governor was too busy reviewing the last batch of random drugs tests on Patong tourists!
More mind boggling Thai stupidity right when they should be minding their P's and Q's.
The foking Germans account for a huge portion of Phuket business.
Brilliant to piss-off the German Ambassador to Thailand.
It's really depressing how poorly educated inbred jackasses can fok things up.

Why do all Western Governments treat these people as if they are normal --they are mostly jumped up little gangsters whose only interest is their own money
Why not issue a Government travel advisory about the lack of safety in Hotels ,Discos,Any other entertainment venues.roads etc etc and then go on to the careless approach to international obligations, and archaic laws that imprison people for offences that would be laughed at anywhere else in the world
The only way to deal with any of these guys is to hit them in thre pocket
Good for the Ambassador and thats fromn a Brit

Of course it is a deliberate ploy. Mind games. I'm heartened that ambassadors are getting involved in the criminal envirorment here . Seems like crimes against farangs is an industry here with every other nationality getting the blame.
