Light-fingered ladyboy caught after attempted robbery.
Police in Soi 9 station interviewed a 30-year-old Thai man in a fetching dress and high-heel ensemble on Sunday night who had been brought in after allegedly trying to rob a foreign tourist of his wallet in a 7-11 convenience store in south Pattaya.
Mr Christian Dursley, a 30-year-old Irishman, was in the 7-11 when he felt a rummaging in his rear pocket and, after realizing it was another person’s hand and not some kind of rodent or other marsupial, discovered his wallet, containing credit cards and about 1,500 baht in cash had been removed. He quickly ascertained the thief was a tall person in a dress who was attempting to leave the store without having purchased any items. Mr Dursley alerted others to the theft. High-heeled shoes and a tight dress tend to make running away on foot at speed a little difficult and the ladyboy was easily detained.
At the station the ladyboy claimed Mr Dursley had given her his wallet; the Irishman denied this. Police decided the ladyboy wasn’t telling the truth and she has been arrested and will face court soon.
