Homeless Man Killed by Fleeing Pickup Truck Driver in Pattaya

A hit-and-run incident claimed the life of an unidentified homeless man, aged approximately 40-50, on the night of May 31st, 2025, at 11:00 PM. The accident occurred on a bridge near Wat Ton Krarok, along the parallel road of Motorway Route 7, Section 5, near Pattaya.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Manoch Thipwet, Deputy Investigation Officer at Banglamung Police Station, received a report of a fatal car accident and immediately coordinated with the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Rescue Team to investigate. At the scene, authorities discovered the body of a man, believed to be homeless and a regular in the area according to local residents. The body was covered with a white cloth, and no identification documents were found. The vehicle responsible for the collision had already fled the scene.

A witness reported seeing a white sedan suddenly swerve while passing the location, prompting them to slow down. They then noticed the man sitting in the middle of the road, in the central lane. Moments later, a pickup truck traveling at high speed struck the man head-on, running him over and causing the vehicle to lurch before speeding away without stopping to assist. The witness attempted to pursue the truck but was unable to keep up, notifying the police.

Police have issued an alert to apprehend the pickup truck driver involved in the fatal hit-and-run. The scene was documented as evidence, and authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and its driver, who will face legal action. The victim’s body was transported by rescue personnel to Pattaya Hospital, where he awaits identification and collection by relatives for religious rites.

Investigations are ongoing as police work to bring the perpetrator to justice in this tragic incident.

The deceased isn't the one who fled the scene though, obviously.

it might classify him as stupid, but certainly not as the perpetrator.

No, but hanging around a dark street in Pattaya is hardly smart or safe.
