Rescue workers in Pattaya responded to an emergency call reporting an Irish man severely injured in an assault near a condominium on Soi Thepprasit 17.
At the scene, 34-year-old Irish national Mr. Scott (whose surname was withheld by the police) was found lying in a pool of blood beside a motorbike, suffering deep slash wounds to his left arm, abdomen, and both legs.
A folding knife was found nearby and secured as evidence. Rescue personnel provided emergency treatment before rushing him to the hospital in critical condition.
A nearby condo security guard told police he saw the victim returning from a convenience store when another foreigner on a motorbike quickly approach, allegedly kicked the victim over, then viciously stabbed him before fleeing the scene. Police detectives suspect the two men likely had a previous altercation or dispute.
Pattaya City Police have launched an investigation and are working to identify and apprehend the attacker.
