Two foreigners have gone missing after being washed out by waves at the Samui Viewpoint on Friday (November 29th).

The Surat Thani Marine Police were notified of the incident near the viewpoint on a road in Bophut. Witnesses told police that a car was stopped near the viewpoint. A foreign couple got out from the car.

They walked to the viewpoint before being washed out by four meter waves into the sea. The search was launched by rescue divers and the Surat Thani Marine Police. There was a warning sign to be aware of ‘Road damage ahead’ notes The Phuket Express.

Missing Russian woman’s body found on Samui Island beach

The body of a woman was found washed ashore on Chaweng Noi Beach on Samui Island late Saturday night.

The remains were later identified as being those of a Russian woman who went missing, believed drowned, on Friday. She was swept from a viewpoint into the sea by a huge wave about a kilometre from the beach.

The victim’s boyfriend, also Russian, went to Samui Hospital last night and identified the body.

Police say that an earlier report, that two Russian nationals had gone missing, was inaccurate. They say they checked CCTV footage from and around the coastal viewpoint and found that there was just one woman swept into the ocean.

Actress, 24, swept to her death by giant wave while doing yoga at her favourite beauty spot on Thai paradise island

AN ASPIRING actress was swept to her death by a giant wave while doing yoga at her favourite beauty spot.

Kamilla Belyatskaya, 24, was caught on video moments before she was pulled into the sea on tourist island Koh Sumui in Thailand.

She was then hit by the massive wave and pulled into the swirling sea - leaving behind only her pink yoga mat.

Harrowing footage too shocking to show showed her struggling and buffeted in the surging currents.

The tourist, from Russia’s third city Novosibirsk, had been visiting Thailand’s second-largest island with her boyfriend, it is understood.

Her body was found at the weekend two-thirds of a mile from where she was washed away.
