Chinese national missing from Bangkok hotel a possible kidnapping

Bangkok’s Phra Khanong district police are investigating a claim that a female Chinese national went missing from her hotel in Bangkok on June 5 and might have been kidnapped for a Bt25 million ransom.

According to Pol Col Chaiwat Pradabthai, superintendent of Phra Khanong police, the station received a call on Friday night from a Thai male, identifying himself only as “Mu”, who claimed to be an interpreter for the Thai Cycling Association.

The man claimed that he had received a call from the father of Zin Loei, the Chinese female, telling him that a mysterious person had contacted him via V-Chat, demanding five million yuan (about Bt25 million) in return for the safe return of his daughter.

The police colonel said that Zin Loei arrived in Bangkok with a group of 10 Chinese friends on June 5 and had checked into a hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 58. At about 3pm yesterday she left the hotel alone and has not returned since.

He said he has checked with immigration police, who maintain that there is no record of Zin Loei leaving Thailand, adding that his men have not been contacted by “Mu” since he alerted the police to the suspected kidnapping.

Chaiwat said that he has not ruled out the possibility of a kidnap, but his men are still investigating the case.

Probably, and it does depend on the consular pressure.

The British of course are renown for being abandoned by their representation in Bangkok, usually homosexuals and other deviants, whose reputation for excellence is represented by their new coat of arms featuring the motif of a glass hammer crossed with a chocolate teapot over a clapped out, moth eaten lion under which the latin motto is inscribed “ Deus ex Machina “.

I recall back in the day a Russian lady and her companion were both sexually assaulted on Pratumnak Hill in Pattaya. The women were apparently connected to a Russian government department working in Moscow. The next day a senior delegation of the Russian embassy escorted by a Thai MFA official and a senior police general from Bangkok held a press conference in Pattaya with the then mayor and entire Pattaya police senior command when it was pronounced the perpetrators would be hunted down mercilessly. The local mafiosi were informed that not even a mouse would be able to nibble a piece of cheese until the perps were grassed up within twenty four hours.

The next day saw the miscreants paraded in Pattaya police station.

Imagine that if the victims were two English girls.

They will be keen to be able to report if she has left the country and is working like a dog in some Myanmar boiler room.

the quality of the british civil service has always left much to be desired and the sloth, torpidity, detachment and lethargy of its employees in bangkok is little different to that of its colleagues in the uk.

But it's not the embassy's job to tell hapless working class tourists not to be dicks.

Nonsense Tax, one treats the British public in accordance with the prevailing social and commercial mores and in line with their expectations.

But the Bangkok FCO/Dfid wallahs have long been regarded as rubbish, and of late the ambassadors have been appointed on the grounds they are homosexual and have spawned test tube children reared in surrogate heifers’ wombs in pseudo matrimonial harmony with their husbands.

Actually, I have to say Tax I have never encountered a poof dentist. Is there some embargo?

it's a profession that requires skill, stamina and spirit, qualities most often found in real men (and women of course).

whereas the meek, the mild and the mincing just dont have enough spunk for the job.

Dextrous is of course another obvious skill but sensitivity would be another virtue raising the tooth puller to a higher level of proficiency. You, Tax, being a bit of cvunt obviously never rose to the highest ranks of your profession.
