The Student Loan Fund (SLF) has allocated 48.34 billion baht for the 2024 academic year, which is sufficient to lend to 769,009 students in need of educational funding, said Chainarong Katchapanan, manager of the SLF, on Friday.


He disclosed that the Fund has received 204,059 loan applications so far, amounting to 10.86 billion baht.


Students in need of money to further their studies can apply for loans via the “Kor Yor Sor.Connect” application.


The SLF has already extended more than 770 billion baht in loans to about 6.8 million students.


Of these borrowers, 1,368,162 are currently studying and are exempted from repaying their loans, 1,866,818 have already settled their loans, 3,501,600 are currently in the process of repaying their loans and 73,041 borrowers have died or become disabled, according to data up to April 30th this year.


Chainarong assured that the amount available is enough to meet the demand for loans, so every student has equal access to education.
