Thread: Israeli Tourist Reportedly Abandoned and Robbed by Motorcycle Taxi Driver in Sattahip

An 81-year-old Israeli tourist claimed he was abandoned and robbed of his phone by a motorcycle taxi driver in Sattahip, Chonburi, on May 13th.


The incident occurred around 6:00 PM. The victim, Mr. Albert Mahlev, 81, an Israeli national, was found sitting alone at a store by the side of Sukhumvit Road in the Sattahip district.


According to local reports, Mr. Albert was reportedly traveling from Pattaya to Sattahip for sightseeing. He hired a motorcycle taxi from Soi Buakhao in Pattaya, and the driver brought him to an intersection on Sukhumvit Road in Sattahip. There, the driver allegedly abandoned Mr. Albert and stole his mobile phone.

Unable to communicate to other people nearby due to language barriers, Mr. Albert sat at a roadside store waiting for assistance. Unidentified concerned citizens then contacted the Sattahip Police Station, and Tourist Police officers from Pattaya and Sattahip responded to the scene. They then took Mr. Albert to the police station for further questioning.


Pol. Lt. Abhisit Phuengyam, Deputy Inspector of the Sattahip Police Station, stated that Mr. Albert was initially unable to provide much information due to language limitations. Authorities are trying to find an interpreter to gather more details from him.
