Extreme Heat Causes Tourists to Dwindle at Jomtien Beach

Jomtien Beach in Pattaya is seeing significantly less tourists as Thailand’s summer heat intensifies.

While the beach still attracts a fair number of sunbathers, swimmers, and those seeking an escape from the city’s sweltering temperatures, the crowds are significantly smaller compared to earlier in the year, The Pattaya News reporters observed while visiting Jomtien Beach at 2 PM on April 28th.

The decline in the number of visitors could be caused by a number of reasons, including the post-Songkran holiday season and undoubtedly the current scorching weather. Temperatures in Pattaya and Banglamung district have been soaring to nearly 40 degrees Celsius for the past few days. This may have deterred many people from visiting the beach.

The Pattaya News reporters inquired with beach bench operators at the beach about how their business was going. Most optimistically stated that Jomtien Beach will likely see a slight uptick in tourists during the upcoming National Labor Day holiday on May 1st and the following weekends.

However, the operators worried about their income situation, with some saying it was only enough to make ends meet. They shared that although they receive some customers, these people are typically locals in the area, with only a few foreigners and domestic tourists.

As ever, truth and authenticity escape the Thai.

The temperatures that have prevailed for over the past week have daily been in the range of 32-34c with humidity levels usually in the high 60s. In the feel- like temperature index then a figure of 37c has been a constant feature with very occasional spikes.

    These are ambient temperatures.

The reason why there are fewer on the beaches is pretty much down to the reduction of Russian families travelling. The Chink bastards have not visited in any numbers this season and in any event they rarely loll on a beach. Also, the Wobblers have been thin on the ground.

But, we are now entering the end of high season and by mid May the only tourists are usually weekending Thai, a smattering of ASEAN, golfers and of course the ageing European monger together with the global eccentrics.

You dozy fuck, I have consistently stated that the Western blue collar oik no longer visits Pattaya in any significant numbers but they are represented by the ageing monger who still comes in his retirement and whores with some old, washed up bandy legged, slattern.

Christ, it’s not fucking rocket science, you dickhead but it seems it might be with you fucking dullwitted teflimg queens.

Oh, I'll be there this weekend. Nothing a good book, cold drinks and beach umbrella can't solve.

No doubt the heat is reducing beach tourism but nationally it is a drop in the bucket on the economic impact of this heat wave. It has a far greater impact on productivity in the Industrial, Services and Agricultural sectors.

No relief in weeks to come so grin and bear folks. This too shall pass.
