A homeless man was found dead on a sidewalk in Pattaya on the evening of Saturday, April 27th. Police believed the man might have passed away from heatstroke.

The deceased, whose real name still could not be identified as of press time, was discovered at the entrance of Soi Jomtien 5 on Jomtien-Second Road in the Nongprue sub-district of Banglamung district, Chonburi province. He was Thai and about 40 years old.

The victim wore a black long-sleeved shirt and green shorts. Based on the stiffness of his body, Pattaya police suspected that he might have been dead for around 8 hours. According to a fellow homeless person, who didn’t share his own name, who knew the deceased, the victim was only known by his nickname as Noi.

Earlier that day, Noi said to his friend he wanted to eat “koi moo” (a spicy pork dish). The friend went to prepare the meal and upon returning, found Noi lying motionless on the sidewalk. He then alerted nearby people to contact the authorities.

Initially, police believe that Noi’s death might have been caused by a health condition, heatstroke, or a combination of both. However, the body of Noi was transported to Banglamung Hospital, where his corpse is awaiting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
