Slovenian Tourist Gases Himself to Death with Helium in Pattaya Condo

A Slovenian man found dead in a condominium complex in South Pattaya yesterday, December 6th, was believed to have died from suffocating himself with helium.

The tragic incident took place at a condo building, whose name was withheld pending a full police investigation, located on the road up Khao Phra Tamnak in South Pattaya, Chonburi province. Pattaya police and Sawang Boriboon rescue workers rushed to the scene upon notification.

Upon arrival, the authorities found the deceased, a 47-year-old Slovenian man, whose name was withheld pending family notification, lying on the sofa in his room on the 29th floor of the condo. He was dressed in a green short-sleeved T-shirt and black shorts. A plastic bag covered his head, with a rubber hose connected it to a helium tank by the side of the sofa.

A thorough inspection of the room revealed no signs of struggle or ransacking. Additionally, no visible injuries were found on the deceased’s body.

Pattaya police preliminary investigations suggested that the victim had been residing in the room for approximately one month. Prior to the discovery, his caretaker unsuccessfully attempted to contact him by phone and ultimately found the body.

Initially, Pattaya police suspected that the victim may have been stressed due to personal issues, leading him to take his own life. However, they would contact the deceased’s relatives to gather more information and confirm the exact cause of death. The victim’s embassy would also be notified.

Haven't heard of that one before.

What do they do, go to a balloon shop and pretend they're having a graduation ceremony.

We, the TD investigative team, might be the first to notice the hallmarks of a Thai serial killer.
While asphyxiation by helium can be detected at autopsy, there is currently no test that can detect asphyxiation by nitrogen. For this reason, nitrogen is commonly the preferred choice for people who do not want the cause of death established
Why would someone want to do that?

Although, lying next a canister of nitrogen (or other nitrogen source) could be a clue?

I’m convinced Houellebecq was onto something when he said there could be no more illusions left when one ventured to Pattaya. In an immoral country populated by an unethical people motivated by nothing but superstition, greed, fear and hypocrisy exploited by a medieval corruptocracy, Pattaya probably passes as a manifestation of the true state of the human condition. I personally see that as a virtue, there can be no more illusions that may sustain a weary traveller postponing a reckoning and that’s got to be good for the soul.

I think there could be an opportunity here. A new business initiative for Pattaya tourism.

“ Come to Pattaya and take stock of yourself. Have you got a wonky moral compass? We’ll straighten it out for you and tell you how it really is. Are you still religious? We’ll strip that out of you and sell you a lottery ticket instead. Have you been cheated, betrayed and spurned? We’ll recalibrate your trust levels, and teach you how to lie. And if you can’t take the futility of your existence, then let us be the springboard for a new afterlife.”

” Come to Pattaya, where nothing matters”.

To give an insurance loss adjuster no scope for cancelling a policy for beneficiaries.

Any evidence of its use can be removed by a beneficiary wishing to conceal the assisted death.

Thailand's version of the Japanese suicide forest. It's already the go to place for retirees and tourists to die, why not just embrace the fact that it's the last stop on the line for the inherintently depressed with no other options?

You could offer package deals: Gun Club option, Aero Club option, Holocaust Recreation option.

Would be a great opportunity for you SeekingAss. You could invite customers into your sad Wongamat condo to discuss which package they would prefer. I think that would be enough to seal the deal.

    Why not?

He has an array of gases, which he lets loose periodically.

Christ, you folk are just so dense. They don’t come here to commit suicide. They mostly come to live unencumbered by past lives but self terminate when they confront the inevitability of having to return to their home countries.

Its not Pattaya that kills them, it’s their past and having to return to it.

Death is preferred. If it were Wales I would quite well understand the motive.

Incidentally, Plank, it was intended as a marketing slogan, you dumb fuck.

Bit of a giveaway if there's a big fucking Nitrogen tank next to you though. Even CSI:TD could crack that one.
