Naked Foreigner Found Wandering Around On Pattaya Beach

A unidentified naked male foreigner who was found walking near Pattaya Beach in the early morning was arrested and taken to the Pattaya police station.

Captain Sonthaya Khonsap from the Pattaya City police told the Pattaya News that they were notified of the incident by stunned local residents near the Central Pattaya Beach in Nongprue on Saturday morning near dawn (July 29th).

They and the Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the naked male foreigner aged around 50 walking and talking with himself loudly. Police were trying to talk with him but unable to understand him and the man continued to rant about foreign political issues.

It took about 15 minutes for police to negotiate with the man before he reluctantly agreed to go with police to the Pattaya Police Station. However, the man was still not fully cooperative and refused to identify himself.

The man is believed to be German based on his accent but that was not solidly confirmed, notes TPN media.

Police were still trying to identify the man and he remained detained as of Saturday afternoon, July 29th. Police suspect the man may have been suffering from mental health issues or abuse of alcohol or drugs.

Their continuing inability to distinguish mental illness from plain japery is typical of this stupid society but then, given the general incoherent and irrational idiocy of their people, I suppose this difficulty could be excused.
The poor wretch looks more in his sixties.

Several years ago I accidentally left my car in a bank's parking lot too long and it ended up being locked in. After asking the local wins if there was usually a night watchman (there wasn't) I went to the nearest police station to let them know that the car was not abandoned and that I would remove it the next day. While I was there, they asked if I could help talk to a foreign man that they were holding. He had been wandering around aimlessly and they wanted to know his nationality so that they could call his embassy. He was a middle aged European who was willing to talk for hours (his English was accented but fluent), but made no sense whatsoever. I eventually recommended that they feed him and let him sleep and perhaps he would be more lucid in the morning. The policeman took us both out to dinner at a local street stand and I went on my way.

I never heard what happened to him, but it could be the same man. I was also quite impressed with how patient and gentle the police were with him.

I have heard that it is not unusual for people who are on meds to stop taking them while they are on vacation. I suspect that this is the case with this fellow as he did not seem like the sort of person who had been on the street for a long time.
