    Murder on the seventh hole

A jealous golfer allegedly shot his love interest and killed another player during a gun rampage on the fairway yesterday in Thailand.

'Obsessed' suspect Nutthawat Donmon, 54, was said to have driven over to his caddy Sroisuda Kham-ong, 35, at the seventh hole and opened fire at the Mae Klong Dam Golf Course in Kanchanaburi on June 21.

He then shot dead the player she was with, Kriangsak Chaiwanarom, 67, hitting him in the back before riding away at low speed toward the car park, still gripping the handgun as he steered the vehicle.

Both victims were taken to the hospital but Chaiwanarom died from his wounds. Sroisuda is stable and being treated by medics.

Police are still searching for the fugitive Nutthawat. They said the shooting stemmed from a 'love affair' between the suspected murderer and the caddy.

Police Colonel Sarawut Srisangworn, superintendent of Tha Muang Police Station said: 'The attack is believed to have been sparked by intense jealousy, as Sroisuda was friendly with Kriangsak, and the pair often greeted each other when they met.'

Golf course staff said Nutthawat had often hired Sroisuda as his caddy as he was 'obsessed' with her.

In the past few days, they had raised concerns when they saw him visiting the golf course without playing.

Instead, he appeared to have been watching someone, they said.

Employees added that on the day of the shooting, Sroisuda had been escorting a group of golfers, including wealthy businessman Chaiwanarom, at the nine-hole course when Nutthawat sped over to them on a rented golf cart brandishing a handgun.

He approached Sroisuda, shooting her before turning the gun on Chaiwanarom and shooting him in the back.

The caddy's shaken friend Somphop Khomsue, 63, said: 'I had taken a break from playing because I was feeling light-headed when I heard the gunshots.

'I later learned that Sroisuda and Kriangsak had been shot. It seems her customer had deliberately targeted them, as he just ignored the other players.

'He often visited and hired Sroisuda to take him around the course because he was crazy about her.'

Nutthawat was seen abandoning the golf cart and escaping in his Isuzu MU-7 SUV jeep.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Kriangsak Buapho of Tha Muang Police Station said they received a report about the attack at 4:30 pm.

They went to the scene with medics to investigate and found Sroisuda with gunshot wounds to her right shoulder and chest.

Kriangsak had a bullet lodged near his chin and was unconscious.

Both were taken to the Makarak Hospital, but Kriangsak died hours later due to his severe injuries. His body will undergo a post-mortem examination.

Forensic crime officers said they also found seven bullet shells at the scene.

It really is quite worrying the sheer number of Thai retards who have access to handguns.

Yes, it does seem the citizens of Thailand can avail themselves of shooters quite easily. I still think the philippines has more guns in the hands of citizens. A lot of business have to employ an armed guard outside the premises. That would seem reasonable for a bank but in the philippines even mr donut shop needs one. Perhaps the philipinos are simply following the merkins who have a right to bare arms. The Thais ? Not sure if there gonna turn into a bunch of gunslingers or not?

My apartment has an armed guard. I think the two guards share the gun and bullet on each of their shifts.

Those short sleeved shirts rarely look good, though.
