Xinjiang too. Are you are aware only 34% 0f the population there is Uyghur? And many of them benefit from the usual policy of throwing money at the problem.

I don't know what Tibetans think because there is no opportunity for them to vote on the subject.

I have never been to Tibet so I don't profess any first hand knowledge. However, Tibet had a fair claim to be an independent country with a distinct language and culture until it was consumed by China under force of arms, at a time post-WWII when there was no great appetite for the other powers to interfere.

It is presented now by China as a fait accompli. Same way it is trying now to present its occupation of islands in the South China Sea.

Personally I do not accept that Tibet is inevitably a part of China. If I accept that then what next, Taiwan? Then the South China Sea. Then...?

I don't see it as a battle on my part. I do see it as an opinion.
