Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has sent his condolences to the family of Pongsak Kittakara, who died while staying in a state quarantine facility at Bangkok Center Hotel, Lt-General Kongcheep Tantrawanit, the Defence Ministry spokesman, said.


The PM has asked the relevant government agencies to support, assist and facilitate the relatives and family of the deceased in conducting religious ceremonies in their home province. Pongsak, who hailed from Chum Phuang district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, returned from Japan on flight JAL031 on June 9. A doctor, who initially screened him, diagnosed a heart disease.

Pongsak said that he would go to his home province for treatment after quarantine. But he died before noon.
