BANGKOK, 28t August 2018 (NNT)-The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has officially introduced Nong Bon Lake as another health park in Bangkok.
Bangkok Governor Pol.Gen.Aswin Kwanmuang presided over the opening ceremony of Sathit Varee Bridge, a 145 meter-long elevated track around the lake built to give visitors a tour of the park.
The 664-rai lake is a water retention area created to prevent flooding in the eastern part of Bangkok. After receiving a makeover, the lake is now ready to serve health-conscious visitors.
The park offers free sailing and kayaking lessons to park members. To be eligible for these classes, visitors are required to apply for membership which costs only 40 baht a year. There is also a futsal field for those who are interested in the popular activity.
The BMA is planning to host long-tail boat and water sports competitions in the future to raise public awareness of the lake and encourage people to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The park is open from 5.00 a.m. until 7.30 p.m.
