BANGKOK, 3rd June 2018 (NNT) - The Meteorological Department has forecast more rain in different parts of the country.
Thunderstorms are expected to continue throughout the country during the next 24 hours. The Northeast is forecast to experience isolated thundershowers. People in risk-prone areas are advised to beware of the dangers of cumulative rainfall.
A southwest monsoon that is covering the Andaman Sea and Thailand has caused continued thundershowers and heavy rain in some areas. Meanwhile, a powerful low-pressure area around the central South China Sea will likely strengthen and will hover over northern Vietnam between 3rd and 5th June.
The southwest monsoon will intensify, leading to high waves and strong winds in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. The Andaman Sea's waves are expected to rise to two meters while those in storm-prone areas could reach more than two meters.
The weather in Bangkok and nearby provinces is mostly cloudy, with a 40 percent chance of rain. The lowest temperature will be 26 degrees Celsius and the highest will be around 34 degrees Celsius.
