KANCHANABURI, 10 February 2018 (NNT) – Vehicles entering and exiting Thungyai Naresuan wildlife sanctuary are subject to stricter inspection.

Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary chief Wichian Chinwong has ordered the sanctuary staff to conduct a more thorough checking for all vehicles entering and exiting the sanctuary area to ensure they have proper entry permits, except for those of local villagers.

The checking will be strictly conducted to more vehicles as opposed to previous routine where only tourists' vehicles were focused. The procedure prohibits vehicles with tires wider than 32 inches to enter the area.

The excursion route between Ti Nuay - Maharaj ranger stations are temporarily closed by the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation.

Access to the sanctuary is currently only available via Takian Thong waterfall and Ban Sanae Pong village.
