BANGKOK, 9th February 2018 (NNT) - The Department of Consular Affairs will provide its passport services every Saturday until April as more Thais are expected to travel overseas.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Spokesperson Bussadee Santipitak revealed today that the Department of Consular Affairs will open on Saturdays starting February 17th to April 7th to give people one extra day a week to renew or obtain their passports.

The spokesperson said the extra day will allow those who don't have time to renew their passports during the week to get it done on a Saturday.

Demand for passport services usually rises a month before Songkran holidays when many Thais prepare to travel overseas. They can visit temporary passport offices which are located at Thayan Park Shopping Mall, MRT Khlong Toey Station and SC Plaza, from 8 am until 3.30 pm on Saturdays. For more information, please contact the Department of Consular Affairs at 02-572-8442.
