    Chiang Mai opens Pracharat market

CHIANG MAI, 5th December 2017 (NNT) – The Pracharat market is now open in the northern province of Chiang Mai, with more than 200 vendors registered to sell at the venue.

The Governor of Chiang Mai, Pawin Chamniprasart, presided over the opening ceremony of the Pracharat market in front of the Chiang Mai Provincial Government Center.

The government's Thong Fah (Blue Flag) Pracharat project is aimed at boosting the grassroots economy and providing channels for low-income farmers and entrepreneurs to sell their products. In addition, the project will help create new career opportunities for the locals and improve their quality of life.

Currently, a total of 2,977 vendors have registered with the government for space at the Pracharat markets in the province.

Didn’t make a lot of sense to me, either. Can’t see many driving or catching a baht bus all the way to City Hall just for that. They should have put it near a busy shopping area.
