PCD accelerates coordination with local agencies to prevent and manage waste from flo

BANGKOK, 28 July 2017 (NNT) – The Pollution Control Department (PCD) will be coordinating with local agencies to prevent damage and manage waste from the floods by delivering manuals on waste management guidelines to all provinces.

PCD Director General Jatuphorn Burutphat said that accumulated waste will have a negative effect on the environment and the health of the people during the rainy season.

The PCD has delivered waste management guidelines during the flood situation to all provincial governors, regional environment agencies, provincial natural resource and environment office and provincial disaster prevention and mitigation offices in preparation of drastic weather conditions that could lead to flooding, he said.

The director general has warned that waste or pollution from burning or flooding can severely damage the environment and negatively affect the people’s health.

The Pollution Control Department issues a book on how to stop pollution whilst they sit on their fat bums doing nothing to help. Enjoy reading the book and do what it says. Great help for solving the tons of rubbish dumped all over Thailand and it's seas wreaking havoc on the small animals. PCD get off yer asses and be proactive. Your the role-model, show those kids how to stop pollution and grow some balls and grab that Charoen P's. Tell him or more to the point order him to stop giving away too many plastic bags at the 7/11. And the same at the shopping malls and supermarkets. Come on PCD get down on it and boogie, baby.

The measures required to prevent/reduce floodings being out of reach (clearing waterways, less concreting etc), they issue guidelines to cope with its consequences... At least they haven't ordered people in flooding area to be responsible by keeping the water on their land or else they could face fines...

Stop filling in the age old khlong systems and initiate more strategic ones throughout the regions.
Ans stop cementing over a natural flood basin.
