Narcotics Suppression Bureau police raided a house at a luxury housing estate in Bangkok’s Min Buri district last night (July 24) and seized over 4 million methamphetamine pills and 26 kilogrammes of “ice”.

The huge cache of drugs comprising No 999 brand meths and “ice” or crystal methamphetamine were uncovered in black plastic bags in a car allegedly owned by Thirapong Suanyaem when police raided his house.

He was about to transport the drugs to deliver to clients in Bangkok and Nonthaburi.

The search inside his house also found 40 kilogrammes of Ketamine, heroine, and other addictive substances.

NSB 3 commander Pol Maj Gen Wuthipong Phetkamnerd said Mr Thirapong admitted to be just a courier who was assigned to transport drugs to narcotics networks.

He would put the drugs on designated locations.

He had admitted of doing the job for four times and each time was paid 200,000 baht, adding he was about to delivered the drugs for the fifth time last night but was arrested.

The police officer said narcotics police learned that the drugs were smuggled in from the North.

He said the police have earlier seized a cache of drugs in Prachachuen area of Bangkok which belonged to the same drug network.

He said this is a large drug network and the police are tracking it’s money route to rid all assets and bank accounts of all its members.
