Thumbs down Police hunt mother who tied her son to roadside railings with plastic cord

Video footage has captured the moment a mother held her son’s head down with her foot and tied him to railings with plastic cord.

The woman was seen scolding her son outside a market in Thailand’s Nonthaburi province, near Bangkok, yesterday evening at around 10pm.

The mother could be seen holding the boy’s head down with her foot
In the distressing clip, she can be seen making him bend double before wrapping the string around his head, arms and back.

The youngster, thought to be five years old, reportedly gasped, ”I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe,” as the woman held his head.

The boy is said to have remained tied to the roadside railings for a few minutes until the woman decided he had been punished enough.

A shocked onlooker passed the footage onto Thai authorities, who published it online are now hunting the woman.

Corporal Rangsan Namsang said: “The mother has a bad heart. Is this really what a mum should do? The only way the lady could help was by taking the video and sharing it.

Really? Just stand by and do nothng else? How about calling out to the woman? How about getting a few people together to intervene? How about untying the kid once the mother left?
    Disgraceful.

If that had happened in NZ or UK the child would have been taken from the mother and she then would be prosecuted for child abuse.

At least one woman in Thailand is actually disciplining her male child, sadly she doesn't seem to know acceptable methods from unacceptable ones.

A bowline, or a clove-hitch would have done the trick.
