Govt. to allocate more land for use for low-income people

BANGKOK, 31 August 2016 (NNT) - The Land Policy Committee has approved more than 120,000 Rai of land for the less-fortunate people for use in line with the government's policy to allocate land for communities nationwide equally.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Wednesday presided over a meeting of the Land Policy Committee. Land plots totaling 120,000 Rai approved for the low-income people are in 55 provinces. The land will be urgently surveyed by the committee.

The PM instructed the committee to find more land plots for use for those without one and develop vocational skills for them.

More than 320,000 Rai of land have been allocated for the people. The government has set a target to allocate around 130,000 Rai more by next year.
