Thailand’s tallest woman dies at age 24

Thailand’s tallest woman who was once recorded by Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s tallest woman with a height of 214 cm has died of high blood pressure at the age of 24.

A sketchy report said that she was rushed to Borai district hospital in Trat province with high blood pressure and she was later pronounced dead.

Her body was later taken to Wat Chang Klua in Tambon Huey Raeng, Muang district by her parents, Mr Man and Mrs Jee Kohsod.

However, it was discovered that her body could not be put into the coffin as it is too small and a new coffin has to be made.

The body of the Thailand’s tallest woman is to be donated to Siriraj hospital

The family of the Thailand’s tallest woman who died on August 27 of high blood pressure has agreed to donate her body to Siriraj hospital for study by medical students.

A close relative of Ms Malee Duangdee who was measured 2.07 metres high when she was 17 making her the world’s tallest woman in accordance Guinness Book of World Records in 2009 told the media during a religious ceremony at Wat Chang Klua in Muang district of Trat on Wednesday that her family had informed provincial authorities to notify the Siriraj hospital about their wish to donate Malee’s body to the hospital for study.

However, it was reported that Malee’s height increased to 2.14 metres when she was 24.

About 3,000 people, many of them ethnic Mon people, attended the ceremony on Wednesday.
