    Groundwater Resources Dept constructs over 4,000 artesian wells for villagers nationw

    BANGKOK, 12 July 2016 (NNT) – The Department of Groundwater Resources has constructed over 4,000 artesian wells to help 338,600 households naitonwide.

    Acting Groundwater Resources Department Director General Worasart Aphaiphong said that the agency has implemented the project to build 6,922 artesian wells nationwide, 4,132 of which have already been completed.

    In addition to another 1,317 wells, the construction of which is currently underway, those artesian wells will benefit over 197,400 rai of farmland and over 338,600 households of villagers throughout the country.

    The department also provided villagers with 21.7 million liters of water during drought season and sent staff to help maintain water supply systems and pumps.

    If they need pumps they are not artesian?

    I'm sure this is a long term solution?

    ^not at all, it will probably last until the water table get too low ...

    If they pump groundwater, they need to find mean to restore the water table during wet season ... For example, in the Northern mountains, I met a man who builds micro-dams taking advantage of relief to create water reserve that allow water to infiltrate the ground...
