Russian Woman Attacked by Monkey on Koh Larn, Pattaya

PATTAYA – A young Russian woman was attacked by a monkey and received a serious bite to the leg on Koh Larn off Pattaya on Wednesday – the second tourist to be bitten by a monkey on the popular island this year.

The 20-year-old woman, identified only as Alexandra, and her Russian boyfriend went to Tawaen beach on Koh Larn to take photos on Wednesday evening.

Alexandra, and her boyfriend told police they saw two male monkeys and as they were about to leave, one of the monkeys attacked Alexandra, biting her right leg.
Her boyfriend chased the animal away and sought help from a rescue team. Alexandra was sent to Pattaya City Hospital by speedboat.

Police said they would question the couple further to find out why the money attacked.

Last month, a four-year-old Russian boy sustained a serious monkey bite to his right leg when attacked by a long-tailed macaque on Khao Nayak hill near Nuan beach on Koh Larn on Jan 4. It was later determned the boy had hit the monkey with a stick before he was bitten.

Pattaya authorities earlier sent workers to remove violent macaques from the island to reduce the risk to tourists. It did not prevent the Russian woman becoming the second victim of monkey bites this year.

    What will this determine?
That the monkey took offence to the Russians political views and an argument ensued?

    All idiots.

Monkey's are given more respect than Farangs in Thailand.

Now, I say that without bitterness in my heart, no horror stories in my past, nada, zip, nothing...

It's just the sad fact that Thais (generally of course) usually only empathize/sympathize with other Thais (not so much non-Thais).

I noticed that within my first few years of living there. No, I lie, I noticed that when I had them living/working for/with me.

Sorry for those shitty scrambled sentences - I've just got home I'm a bit tired, so don't pick on me today, or I'll get my pet monkey to bite you (not my wife 55),,,

Possibly lady Alexandra (1) spurned the macaques advances or (2) was caught two-timing the macaque.
Question: why do they keep attacking 'Ruskies' ?

Possibly I'm at the point of reading these type of stories with a slightly humorous (or slightly off kilter) perspective due to more serious issues.

There's a show on UK tv called 'Monkey Life' about a monkey rescue centre in England, and I will honestly say these creatures are a hell of a lot smarter than I ever thought. They don't just attack for the hell of it.

^^^ DJ, not all monkeys are the same emotionally and intellectually...just as homo sapiens aren't the same and react differently to their environment, stimuli, etc.
    Think Tourettes...

True, nearly all of those rehabilitiated at Monkey World are Chimps, Orangutangs, or gibbons, rescued from labs, circuses, funfairs, tourist props etc, really badly treated

None of those small ones that bit the Russian woman, they're the worst fuckers

Its obvious by the photo that her shorts were just plain too short causing tha arousal of the monkey.

Dismissing the primates advances caused loss of face and enraged the beast into the bite. Entirely the womans fault because had she stayed home none of this would have happened.

I hope the monkey got its tetanus and rabies shots.

Those Ruskies are a disease-riden lot.

Chimps will. Chimps will literally rip your arms, legs and face off just for being anywhere near them.
They will kill you just ''for the hell of it''.
