BANGKOK — A man fell from the fifth floor and died at Silom Complex this afternoon.

The man, reportedly wearing a military uniform, has not been identified yet and a police officer at Thungmahamek Police Station said he did not yet have information about the incident.

The man fell to the first floor, which was crowded with shoppers for a Muji clearance sale.

At about 5pm, Muji Thailand announced its sale event was canceled.

    More like Suicide Complex.....

BANGKOK — A man who fell to death at Silom Complex Thursday afternoon has been described as suicide by police.

The man was identified as an ex-soldier, Sawat Yata, 55. He took his shoes off on the fifth floor before jumping, said Col.Ratchapon Chanasrikajorn, commander of a local pol.

Ratchapon said police have inspected CCTV footage and questioned witnesses. This confirmed that Sawat committed suicide, according to Ratchapon.

The man fell to the first floor, which was crowded with shoppers for a Muji clearance sale.

At about 5pm, Muji Thailand announced its sale event was canceled.

Earlier media reports speculated that Sawat was an army officer because he was wearing what appeared to be an army uniform; however, Ratchapon said Sawat was in fact wearing camouflaged pants that were not issued by the Thai army. Sawat left the military service “many years ago”, Ratchapon added.
