Registration Date Base for Foreigners
On 24th July, Pattaya Immigration Superintendent; Pol. Col. Itthiphol Itthisarnronnachai gave an interview to reporters about the Online Registration Data Base for Foreigners.
Pol. Col. Itthiphol stated that City Hall had granted the Immigration Department a budget of 850,000 Baht for this project. At the moment he is rushing the project in order for foreigners to be able to contact the immigration through the Internet, and all files must be carefully kept in order.
Foreigners that are in Thailand either residents or tourists have the duty to inform the immigration department of their whereabouts once they arrive and from then on; every 90 days. If a person does not proceed accordingly then they will be charged up to 5,000 Baht fine, plus an additional fine of not more than 200 Baht each day until a letter is made to inform of their address.
At the moment Pattaya Immigration have installed an Internet Network that will accept registration of accommodation/residence online at:
Pattaya Immigration.org and Pattaya Immigration.com to publicize this registration rule to all.
This project will launch starting October 2007 and will be on test for 3-6 months.
