If the guys are allowed to receive 'visitors', plenty of online activity for dating & more in the PI.

Perhaps plenty of she/he's on board those vessels already. No need for shore leaves. The new Navy.
Well, the new open navy . . . can't say it wasn't like that before, it was just hiddenQuote:

It's not that homosexuality just happened to come into existence when the new rules came into effect - it has been there as long as there has been homosexuality . . . do you not agree?
Yes agree. Not very likely that "as many," were in the services prior to the latest legislation. Alexander The Great was gay...according to the history books.Quote:

OK, it's boring, but I'm not sure he's sending the right signal of massive contrition.
Or maybe they were going to stop at McDo on the way back to Manila...
I would think any reason to get out of his box for a day would be welcome....
^He's pretty much just a hood ornament in all this now Davis. Why bother?
Testimony today from four US Marines. These are the guys who were in the disco with him when he met Jeff, and were also the guys who came back to the hotel to get him, only to find out he had already fled to his ship.
Again, all stuff from the preliminary hearing. Prosecution is simply continuing to build the circumstantial case.
No real details out yet on today.
Worth adding that it was to one or more of this group that, once they returned to the ship and found Pemberton, Pemberton allegedly said, "I think I just killed a he-she". If this was testified to today, that's a big nail in his coffin.
This must be a great morale booster. So religious fanatic or PC idiot is behind this.
US troops banned from Philippine bars

Philippine bar ban on US troops | Bangkok Post: news
MANILA — US troops in the Philippines have been banned from local bars and nightclubs......."There is a 10pm curfew. The restrictions include no bars and clubs," said Capt Alex Lim, a spokesman for the US Pacific Command.
Been ongoing for months, Bob, ever since the alleged murder. There has been no shore leave for personnel from ships - these restrictions just bring land troops here for the Balakitan exercise (like Cobra Gold) into line with existing restrictions. No US military will see the inside of a bar here until after the trial concludes circa October - and the restrictions may well not be lifted then.
^ Mass punishment when one guy screws up has always been a tool of military discipline, but it was usually restricted to groups small enough that the other soldiers were in a position to influence the behavior of the problem child.
Guess I just miss the good old "boys will be boys era" when soldiers on leave hitting the bars and patronizing the local women was expected, considered normal and ignored.
I think killing them is the problem here.
It's all political, Bob. While the Visiting Forces Agreement is law, the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement is still in the courts here. The US military isn't going to chance another incident while EDCA is yet lacking final approval. There are a variety of anti-VFA/EDCA groups just waiting for another incident.
And some might allege that it's also a form of economic blackmail by the US. There is no doubt the economy misses thousands of free-spending US troops, especially in Manila and Olongapo.
I thought there was no doubt he killed the personQuote:

Bob you need to get in touch with your feminine side.:)
Ah, because I don't condone rape and murder by uniformed 'boys' I have a wife who thinks for me . . . as only women could object to rape and the rest.Quote:

Because Thais also agree with you about raping and murdering Thai women being acceptable as just something 'boys do'??? :confused:Quote:
