The National Council for Peace and Order Friday released order number 63/2014 on judicial policy to ensure the rule of law.
The order stipulates that the judicial process, which includes not just the courts of law but also the police, Office of the Attorney General, the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Department of Special Investigation must carry out its duty in a just manner and in a way that can be scrutinised by the public. They must also avoid causing any misunderstanding in the public about its work in a way that could lead to division within society and there should be no double standards in application of the law.
The order also says people must be given equal access to justice.
