EXPECTANT RESTAURANT WORKER TAKEN SHORT IN PATTAYA RESTAURANT
An assistant cook from Chern-long Korean Beef Restaurant experienced a sharp pain from her advanced pregnancy, which announced the imminent birth of her baby. Unable to reach the hospital in time, she gave birth safely in her room.
The rescue services and police were alerted on 5th May 2007, at 6.30 am about the imminent birth and rushed first aid equipment to a 2nd Floor room above Chern-long Restaurant, on Soi Nern-plubwan, but, by the time they arrived, they found the mother, Miss Thawee Salee, (31) from Sri-saket province, exhausted after just having given birth to a baby son. All her assembled cousins and friends were trying to help by holding and supporting the baby. Mother and baby were later taken to hospital to have the umbilical cord cut. This will be Miss Thawee’s fourth child, but she needs to consult her husband before it is named.
