German man found dead in his South Pattaya Hotel Room.

Just after Midnight on Thursday, Police Lieutenant Colonel Manoch from Pattaya Police Station was called to the Beverley Plaza Hotel on the Pratamnuk Road in South Pattaya to deal with a foreign fatality. Inside room number 1004, a Hotel Security Guard discovered the body of the room occupant; Mr. Adam Ulrich Friedrich aged 69 from Germany. He was found slumped over the side of his bed and according to the Police Report it was estimated he had died only a few hours before the discovery. No signs of foul play were evident in the room and no signs of visible trauma were seen on the body. An empty bottle of Thai Whisky and a statement from the Hotel Security Guard explaining how the man enjoyed to drink excessive amounts of Thai Whisky offer some clues as to the cause of death, however Police are awaiting the findings of a post mortem examination and a medical history which will be provided by the German Embassy in Bangkok.

Hard Drinking German Dies in Hotel

Hard Drinking German Dies in Hotel

A foreigner’s death was reported to the Pattaya police by a security guard from Beverly Plaza Hotel late on 11th April.

When the police entered the room they found the body of Mr. Ulrich Friedrich Adam, aged 68, a German national, beside the bed. It looked like he was trying to climb up onto the bed before he died.
Mr. Adam had wounds and scratches on his arms, possibly caused by a recent motorbike accident. There were no signs of a fight or any disturbance in the room – even his safe was untouched.
However, the police found a lot of medication and a near empty bottle of whiskey in the room. It is believed that he died from alcohol poisoning or from some disease that he already has.
The security guard stated that Mr. Adam would drink every day outside at bars and always carried home a bottle of whiskey to drink in the room alone.
On that day no one saw him come out of the room. Usually he ordered food from the hotel but that evening he did not appear. The guard thought it suspicious so went to knock on Mr. Adams room, getting no response he used the spare key to enter and found Mr. Adam dead.

The body has been sent to the Police Institute of Forensic Laboratory and the German embassy has been informed.

I do think that Thai whiskey will kill you, but those Marlboro lights made by Thai Tobacco Monopoly will pobly be found to be the culprit in that poor bastards death.

Looks like the cop is offering the left-over whiskey around the room for a swig.

Hmm, why would the security guard open the door if the guy had only been dead a few hours?
