The body of a man, thought to be of Thai nationality and aged in his thirties, was discovered by an Ice Factory worker meeting the rest of his family at the reservoir on a fishing trip, on Tuesday afternoon.
Khun Suradeart aged 26 rode through a Water Treatment Plant at the Maprachan Reservoir and discovered the body of the man who showed clear signs of repeated blows to the head.
Nongprue Police were called to the location and examined the body of the man. Blood marks in the grass were seen, suggesting the man was killed elsewhere and dumped at the location by the attackers. A pair of shoes thought to belong to the victim were seen as were a number of planks of wood which were blood stained.
The unidentified victim was wearing a White T-Shirt and Jeans and Police noted he was wearing no underwear. Major trauma to the head and neck were seen and Police will wait for the results of a post-mortem examination to confirm the cause of death and time of death which Police estimate occurred around 8 hours prior to the discovery of the body.
With there being no witnesses to the attack coming forward for now, Police are appealing for assistance in this case of apparent murder and would ask anyone with information to contact Nongprue Police Station on 038 249 820.
