    Is Suffolk that bad?

I tend to think of Constable, nice little villages nestling among sun dappled arbours, quaint pubs with well kept ales served by fresh faced lasses open to lusty liaisons and a leisurely drift through life pootling along twisty country lanes in my Morgan unencumbered by thoughts one usually associates with, say, Milton Keynes, Scunthorpe or Dagenham.

I suppose the reality is quite different with the local folk doomed to exist in futile, parochial, unrelieved dreariness distinguished by their lumpy rotundity, bad teeth and all the grace of a three legged pregnant sow. Doubtless the lad in desperation had chosen the Navy as an ecape from his likely fate but now realises such a draconian step is totally unnecessary having discovered the unalloyed joy that comes with the free availability of lissom, chickenhead twat, perpetual sun, cheap beer and the daily reminder that one is indeed a very handsome young man.

Trouble is, I've met chaps like this boy Armstrong albeit some 10 years down the line. Invariably, they are locked into a moribund relationship with a girl who has morphed into a harpy embittered by disillusion and a luk kreung brat he can ill afford to keep on a monthly income derived from soul destroying work as a jobbing teacher of recalcitrant idiots. They have no prospect of betterment but cannot ditch the bitch for fear of losing residence and end up seeking succour in increasing alcoholism and cheap whoring with skanky slagbags. Returning to Britain is not an attractive option with no realistic prospect of employment there except as a lumpen donkey working in harness with assorted immigrants and to do so is tantamount to accepting they are utter failures. They are a strange breed alienated from both worlds who live in a quiet desperation redolent of an open prison but with no likelihood of parole.

Still, I suppose he could learn Thai fluently and end up living life in darkest Isaan in futile, parochial, unrelieved dreariness........

My guess is that he has had some kind of mental breakdown, the family is keeping the account topped-up while the father looks for him in Bangkok because obviously the locations of the cash withdrawls provides a good lead on which to work with, and of course it also goes some way to ensure that he doesn't get in to any 'real trouble'. I think people are being rather harsh in their observations, tru the family have mismanaged the sittuation, but it must be very difficult for them, and thinking can become blurry under stress.Give them a break, at least until we know more.

I was just on th FB page but I didn't see it. Thanks for that. On the FB page,a couple fo dive companies have put the word out and a lady who is friends with the wife of a police chief in Phuket has also done this.

There is enough word out there and he is distinctive enough looking that he would be recognized now by anyone who reads the news. The fact that his withdrawals were made at well known tourist areas is a bit mind boggling. What about the security cameras at the ATM's? They would show if it is actually Tom making the withdrawals or someone else. That would at least be a lead.

it could be worse, they could be locked into a mindset of grinding and relentless negativity spending their days in front of a computer posting stereotypical melancholic fantasies dragged howling out of the murky canyons of their cheerless cerebral hemispheres.

I assume that even in the unlikely event he's found alive, his offer of a commission in the Navy will be withdrawn. He would seem to be a dessert risk, who would leave the ship at any sweet temptation offered.

Absolutely no doubt whatsoever. If an offer was ever made, which I doubt. RN doesn't make "offers" as such.

Now Tax, pray tell, just what is negative about those sentiments?

I do believe you are a bit cranky today. What's the matter? Are we suffering withdrawal symptoms after that brief interlude in a real city state and are finding it difficult to reconcile yourself to the reality of your little frayed around the edges, tatty provincial resort and its miserable offerings?

Never mind dear boy, get yourself down to one of those seedy little beer bars staffed by the jaded over the hill Pattaya rejects that fetch up there and have a cuddle. Perk you up no end.

Great post by the gent.As for the dessert risk, obesity is probably more dangerous than being on the loose in bangkok.

That may be already a problem for him if the Royal Navy have been/are sponsoring him through university.

Well he obviously doesn't want to join the Senior Service, as he has discovered the joys of Thai ladies with hairy cocks.

    He could buy himself out.

I know.......they could launch another fund.

'Lets keep Tom out of the Navy' Fund.

Thailand can be a huge shock to the senses with regards to women, especially coming from a country like the UK where someone average/ugly looking is highly unlikely to get a sniff at anything mildly attractive looking.

I think he's become infatuated with some pretty little piece of Thai pussy and is currently shacked up in her 3000baht a month room.

Probably not a whore, just a regular Thai girl who likes meeting westerners maybe even met her on his dive course or at Khao San Road.

Khao San Rd is popular with young Thai girls in school because "farangs are fun and handsome".
Yes it suprised me when talking/meeting with Thai girls in bangkok, more often than not they'd invite me to Khoa San road to party at the weekends.

It seems to me Asian women have very different/forgiving standards with regards to Caucasian men My ex ex ex Chinese girlfriend in the UK told me she finds most white men handsome..

    i guess it's a big nose/white skin thing

Why not wait til there is real news. Ghost - as a personal plea, can you make your user name on two levels? To avoid the strange tracking to the right that occurs?

Don't know how to perform that task, but am happy for my handle to be modified by a Moderator to 'The Moog' if it helps layout.

It's good that Tom's presumed expiry has produced something constructive.
