Sadly, It would appear in view of the many knife attacks concerning Thai's Portrayed on these boards over the last week or so that it should be deemed "par for the course" , and of course if a farang is involved the "hanging judges" on this great little forum will declare them automatically Guilty ,or "they asked for it", truly pitiful !

i also give you the benefit of doubt - that you are through and through middle class and never have peaked into "poor" or "lower" class...

im not saying, a "poor life" isnt harder than a "rich one"... but in terms of being an asshole, being violent - or being a murder victim - its no different...

it - imo - shouldnt matter when having "virtual feelings of mourning" whether the victim was poor or rich, but that exactly it does - for the middle class definitely... because in fact - they are looking down at that "poor suckers" with their "unfortunate" lives...
thats not the case in "reality"... being poor doesnt mean unhappiness or being unfortunate or being a more sad victim than a rich one...

Personally I don't see what class has tgo do with it, but thebn you a 1+1=6 type of chap.

As I see it

One chap, has just lost everything of finacial value to him and has gone on the run with his family. At best they must start from nothing again, at worst he will spend years in jail, whilst his fimaiily have to do the necessary to survive.

the other chap, he's dead, he's lost everything that was of any value to him, his future, his family, his estate. his family will ance face the wolves with one less source of support.

And probably, as with most murders, the only differecne between the murderer and the victim was the luck or lack of it to get killed first.

That both chaps have given up almost if not actually everything over an argument, which compared to what they had in their future and family was utterly petty . is both very sad and very pathetic.

My original question was "how many rich people get killed" compared to poor people. It's not a question of class. It's a question of desperation. Hazz more or less answered it earlier - these guys were fighting over their very livelihood. That's the point. Of course the guy who killed him is an asshole, and yes there are equal numbers of assholes among the rich and the poor. Poor people are more vulnerable and have much more to lose on a day to day basis than some rich guy or middle-income earner.
