Lady Boys Snatched Tourist’s Gold Necklace
2 lady boys that sell their sexual services around the Pattaya Beach area, grabbed a gold necklace from around the neck of an Australian Tourist, the 2 culprits tried to escape on a motorbike but were immediately arrested.
PATTAYA – April 10, 2012 [PDN];
At 03.00 whilst Pol. Lt. Vitsanu Chaisuwan, Deputy Inspector, Pattaya Police Station, Chonburi Province, had mobilized his forces to create a check point on the road near Pattaya beach.
He traveled in front of Mike’s Shopping Mall on Moo 9, Tambon Nongprue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi Province, he discovered a male tourist, name of Mr. Simon Michael Young age 49, of Australian Nationality, running after a motorbike with 2 lady boys on it.
Mr. Young asked for assistance from Pol. Lt. Vitsanu Chaisuwan and he stated that the 2 lady boys had stolen a gold necklace from around his neck and was attempting to flee the scene.
The Police Team assisted the victim and arrested the 2 suspects, who were found to be Mr. Pitha Kaenthao (the rider) age 26, address 256 Moo 7, Tambon Hang Dong, Amphur Hod, Chiang Mai Province and Mr. Jaroen Munkong (the passenger) age 26 address 240 Moo 4, Tambon Takoodrai, Amphur Chondaen, Petchaboon Province.
They were riding a red Yamaha Fino motorbike, license number NGOR PHOR LOR-599 Chonburi.
The police conducted a search of the bag of Mr. Jaroen and found a gold necklace, which was damaged and a Buddha image both of which belonged to the victim.
Mr. Young. Mr. Young positively identified the 2 lady boys as the ones that had stolen his necklace and tried to abscond.
Mr. Young stated that whilst he walked around the beach area and passed in front of Mike’s Shopping Mall, Mr. Jaroen, one of the lady boys walked towards him and hugged him and offered sexual services to him for a price.
Mr. Young further stated that he refused the offer and tried to walk away, but Mr. Jaroen snatched his gold necklace along with a golden Buddha image, which Mr. Young’s Thai girl friend had bought for him.
Mr Young stated that the necklace had a value of more than 40,000 THB.
The victim also confirmed that Mr. Jaroen ran to his partner in crime Mr. Pitha, who was sitting on a motorbike waiting for him. Mr. Jaroen jumped on to the rear of the motorbike to make his getaway, but unfortunately for the hapless thieves the Police passed by at that time and arrested the 2 lady boys immediately.
The 2 lady boys shouted their innocence and stated that they didn’t steal Mr. Young’s gold necklace, but the necklace had been found on their person.
The police didn’t accept the pleas made by the 2 lady boys, due to the fact that once the Police checked the details of the 2 lady boys it became apparent that they had been arrested on numerous occasions previously for pick pocketing and preying on unsuspecting Tourists by snatching gold necklaces from around their victims necks and absconding.
The Police took the 2 suspects to the Police Station for further questioning and to prosecute the 2 lady boys in accordance with Thai Law.
